| 概要 | Sodium ascorbate (AsA-Na) is widely used as a vitamin C source, but the mechanisms regulating its intake remain unclear. We examined behavioral and neural responses to AsA-Na in vitamin C synthesis-deficient ODS rats using two-bottle choice and short-term lick tests and chorda tympani (CT) nerve recordings. AsA-Na showed lower preference than NaCl, whereas lick responses were comparable to those for NaCl and increased during vitamin C deficiency. Intake of 10 mM AsA-Na selectively increased during vitamin C re-intake. The ENaC blocker amiloride strongly suppressed CT responses to AsA-Na but did not affect its long-term preference or intake. These results suggest that AsA-Na activates ENaC-dependent taste signaling, whereas its sustained intake is regulated by concentration- and nutritional state-dependent post-ingestive mechanisms rather than sodium taste signaling alone. |
