概要	Autophagy is a cellular process that breaks down the cytoplasmic components of the cell itself for energy supply and to maintain an appropriate intracellular environment. Left ventricular reverse remodeling (LVRR) is known to improve the prognosis for patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). This time, we tested the hypothesis that autophagy is involved in LVRR in the human heart and contributes to prognosis, and showed that autophagy is a useful marker for predicting LVRR. This suggested the possibility of a strategy for treating the impaired DCM heart.
