概要	Heroic figures or heroic character types that represent the cultural values can be classified into three main groups: hero， anti-hero， and neither of these two. An anti-hero is chosen as the subject of this study. In the first part of the study， a definition of anti-heroism and a classification of anti-heroes are given and discussed. In the second part of the study， the heroic character type of Holly Martins， the protagonist of the film The Third Man (1949)， is analyzed and examined based on the definition of anti- heroism and the classification of anti-heroes.
