| 概要 | ODS rats lacking ascorbic acid (AsA) synthesis show similar lick rates for sodium ascorbate (AsA-Na) and NaCl, suggesting a salt-like taste. However, reduced long-term intake of AsA-Na may involve post-ingestive effects.
We examined preference and intake of AsA-Na and NaCl with or without amiloride (Ami), an ENaC inhibitor, and recorded chorda tympani responses. Ami reduced responses to 100 mM NaCl by ~45% and to AsA-Na by ~90%. Preference was unchanged, but intake of AsA-Na with Ami was lower. These results suggest AsA-Na taste is mediated via ENaC, while post-ingestive mechanisms suppress long-term intake. |
