| 概要 | This study examined whether capsaicin (CAP) influences taste-related ingestion behavior in mice. CAP activates the TRPV1 channel, but previous studies often used high concentrations that may cause TRPV1 desensitization. At a lower concentration (3 μM), CAP was previously shown to enhance chorda tympani nerve responses to sugars but not to artificial sweeteners. This effect occurred even in mice lacking the sweet receptor component T1R3 and was blocked by phlorizin, an inhibitor of the sodium/glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1), suggesting SGLT1 involvement. Here, a 10-s short-term lick test was used to determine whether adding 3 μM CAP, with or without phlorizin treatment, alters mice’s ingestion behavior toward various tastants. |
