概要 | We found that the addition of 3 µM Capsaicin (CAP), a pungent component of chili peppers, enhanced the chorda tympani (CT) nerve responses to sugars (glucose, sucrose) but not to artificial sweeteners (SC45647) in wild type (C57BL6J/B6) mice. These effects also occurred in mice lacking the gene for sweet taste receptor component T1R3, and were abolished by the treatment with phlorizin, an inhibitor of sodium/glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1), a novel sweet taste receptor recently reported. It was expected that the CAP-induced enhancement of CT nerve responses to sugars are mediated by SGLT1, however, whether this enhancing effect of CT nerve responses to sugars actually affects the ingestion behavior for the sweet taste solution had not been investigated. In this study, we examined whether the addition of 3 µM CAP alters the ingestion behavior to various tastants in B6 mice by using a 10s short term rick test. |
