概要	This study evaluated the preference for calcium ascorbate (AsA-Ca), a calcium salt of vitamin C, in Wistar rats using a 48-h two-bottle choice test versus distilled water. Preference scores for AsA-Ca and CaCl₂ were compared across concentrations from 0.01 to 100 mM. At concentrations ≥30 mM, AsA-Ca showed significantly higher preference scores than CaCl₂. Compared with previously reported values for ascorbic acid (AsA), AsA-Ca also showed higher preference. These results suggest that rats prefer AsA-Ca over CaCl₂, possibly due to its higher pH, although the mechanism remains unclear.
