概要	ODS rats cannot synthesize ascorbic acid (AsA) and show salt-like licking responses to sodium ascorbate (AsA-Na). This study examined whether reduced long-term intake of AsA-Na involves post-ingestive effects. Chorda tympani responses to 100 mM AsA-Na were strongly suppressed by amiloride (ENaC inhibitor), indicating ENaC-mediated taste transmission. However, in a 48-h two-bottle test, amiloride significantly reduced intake of AsA-Na, suggesting post-ingestive factors suppress long-term consumption.
